File Prep for Plug & Play

A file presented to BPS for printing on our Chromira 50 must meet several requirements for discounted plug and play pricing.

  • tif or jpg file
  • RGB color mode
  • 8 bit color depth
  • Flattened file, no layers
  • No extra channels or paths
  • File set to desired final size

Several recommended file specifications

  • We print at 250ppi, prints are acceptable down to 72ppi, anything over 300ppi is overkill.
  • Files should be set to a round number of pixels (250ppi not 249.78ppi). Pixel fractions can cause the Chromira to alter the exact size of the file.
  • We use Adobe 1998 as our default color space. Other color spaces, such as SRGB, are printable by the Chromira as well. Using good color management practices and embedding your chosen color space profile in the file returns the best printing results. (See Color Management section for our tips and icc profiles.)
  • Color balance, density, and other image optimizations are the responsibility of the customer. Files will not be reviewed for defects prior to printing. Be sure submitted files are print ready.

We are happy to do test images to get a reliable service set up. When all parties are working in a properly calibrated environment with good viewing conditions, the print matches are very accurate.
