Flight maps supplied to BPS arrive in a variety of forms and qualities. Our flight planners often re-make the map to better fit the needs of the flight crew. While we are fully prepared to do this task, it often involves extra phone calls or emails to clarify details. Time can be saved and job accuracy improved if we have certain information clearly depicted. Following is a sample map of a small project that shows the basic items we need. We typically use Maptech Terrain Navigator quad maps as our map base and their tools to draw points and lines (usually in a route format). Other programs may work just as well. Many mapping customers display the lines over an orthophoto so we have some current ground information as well.
